Astrid

Astrid

Astrid joined the Tiara Rado team in 2007, helping mostly in the kennel. Since 2009, Astrid is on the reception desk answering calls and welcoming patients, astutely helpful and sometimes in multiple languages! A graduate in linguistics from Heidelberg University in Germany, she helps translate when foreign visitors stop by. Astrid and her husband have three dogs from Germany, and they love to hunt upland, swim and hike together.

Vanessa

Vanessa

Vanessa, a Southern California native, moved to Grand Junction to be closer to family. Since a child, Vanessa has always had a love for animals­ – big, small, slimy, feathered or scaly. Vanessa knew she belonged in an animal hospital, and  joined the TRAH team in November 2016. When not helping at the front desk, Vanessa enjoys hiking, camping, horseback riding and anything else outdoors. She feels honored to be part of such an amazing and caring team.

Bob Marquis, DVM, CCRT

Owner of Tiara Rado Animal Hospital

Dr. Bob Marquis graduated from the University of Missouri School of Veterinary Medicine in 1978. After moving to Grand Junction in 1980, he started Tiara Rado Animal Hospital in 1983. Strong interests of his include orthopedic surgery, neurosurgery and endoscopy, as well as general practice. He became certified in the use of veterinary stem cells in 2008.

A deep interest in the well-being of pets, service and competition animals as they recover from injuries, surgeries, or live more comfortably as they age lead Dr. Marquis to pursue training in physical therapy. He earned his Certificate in Canine Physical Rehabilitation (CCRT) in 2016.

Dr. Marquis and his wife live on Glade Park with their dogs Gracie and Enzo. They love the outdoors, going camping, hiking, fishing, and taking their family and grandson with them.

Always forward-thinking and active, his other interests include aviation – he is an instrument rated private pilot, and serving on the Mesa County Search and Rescue Ground Team.

Caylie McClure DVM

Caylie McClure, DVM

Dr. Caylie McClure earned her DVM degree from Texas A&M University in 2007. A Creede, CO native, she returned home to Colorado to pursue her career, and spent four years practicing in Durango before joining the team at Tiara Rado Animal Hospital. Dr. McClure strives to provide extraordinary pet health care and learning experiences while forming lifelong relationships with clients and patients.

Dr. McClure has two dogs, Pete and Dandy, who are her constant companions, and is endlessly supported in her endeavors by family and friends from near and far. When away from work she seeks things active and outdoors like mountain biking and hiking with her dogs. It is her highest priority to continue learning and growing, both personally and professionally, throughout life.

Caylie and her husband are thrilled to have a new addition to the family – Augusta, a Valentine baby girl born on February 14, 2017.

Jeff has been with Tiara Rado Animal Hospital since 2012. He started at the front desk as a Client Care Representative, and was promoted in 2016 to be the Office Manager. Jeff has lived in the Grand Valley since 1988, when he moved here from Montrose to attend Mesa State College. He graduated with a degree in Fine and Performing Arts. Jeff has been married to Laura for 20 years and they share their home with 3 dogs: Sydney, a Red Heeler Mix, Lili, a silver dapple Dachshund, and the newest edition, Hamilton, a Boston Bull Terrier/Chihuahua mix.

Janice moved to the Grand Valley in 1998 after serving in the United States Army. She has three grown children and two grandchildren. Janice has always loved and cared for animals. With an extensive clerical and bookkeeping background, she joined TRAH in 2016 as Client Care Specialist. Janice enjoys going on hikes with Coral her golden retriever, while her 16 year old cat, Domino relaxes at home.

Head Technician

April has a deep love and respect for animals and knew early on that she wanted to work in animal care. She graduated from Mesa State College with a Bachelor of Science degree, and has worked at TRAH for more than a decade. Special interests include laboratory work, animal rehabilitation and emergency care. April earned a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Assistant (CCRA) degree in 2016. Married, they have three children and dogs Ranger and Pike.

Head Technician

Amy is a Grand Junction native. She graduated from Colorado Mesa University with a Bachelor degree in Psychology in 2012, and joined Tiara Rado in 2013. She has eleven years of experience in the veterinary field, six of which were at the Grand Valley Veterinary Emergency Center. Amy’s passion is emergency medicine and anesthesia. Outdoorsy, she enjoys hiking with her four dogs, trail riding with her horse and camping.

Ashley is a native to the Grand Valley and graduated from Palisade High School with honors. Always interested in healthcare, Ashley became a qualified medication administrator and worked with the elderly and mentally disabled. Since joining TRAH, her work ethic and patient care has been great. She believes in good family values, has one son, many pets, and enjoys painting, camping, hunting and fishing.

Dental Specialist

After graduating from Grand Junction High School, Shayleen studied at the Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology in Denver, and graduated with an Associate of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology, attaining Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT). She joined Tiara Rado in 2013. Shay loves hiking, camping, road trips, family time, reading, anything to do with animals and G-Baby – her cat.

Heather

Always an animal lover, Heather fosters the human/animal bond through her employment. She has worked at pet stores and the Grand Valley Veterinary Emergency Center since 2003, and joined TRAH in 2013. She gives compassionate care to patients, especially during emergency medicine and large surgeries. She is goal oriented and loves a challenge! Married, she has three children, four dogs and a cat.

Susun married a GJ native and moved in 2013 from Dallas, Texas. She earned her License in Veterinary Technology in 2005 from Cedar Valley College in Texas, working mostly in emergency and critical care, with keen interests in client education and radiology. In 2009 Susan received her Radiology degree and worked in a pediatric orthopedic clinic for four years. In her free time she loves to be outdoors with her husband, son and dog.

Lindsay enjoys living in the Grand Valley with her two Jack Russells and an Australian Shepard mix. On her days off she rides her mule, Sunny, in the many beautiful surrounding areas. She loves being a vet tech and has been working with both large and small animals for many years.

While working in the veterinary field as a kennel tech, Barbara was attending nursing school and realized that she wanted to be part of the healing process that’s behind the scenes. She enjoys the innate challenges of veterinary care and the joy of helping patients is her greatest honor. She and her husband have two dogs, Siri and Tober plus two cats, Starlet and Anna. She likes mountain biking, cooking and art and is from Middleburg, Florida.

In 1979 Kassie moved from California to be close to family, which includes niece April who also works at TRAH. Count on Kassie for great care. “The team here is friendly, professional and passionate about what they do,” says Kass. “It’s an inspiration to see them in action!” She spends time outdoors with family to hike, camp, 4 wheel, ride motorcycles, raft and bike.

Patty moved to Grand Junction from Denver. Her dog, Sage, had a badly torn ACL and luckily, Patty chose Tiara Rado to have the surgery done. She felt so comfortable with the staff during that visit that she applied for a job. She is now fulfilling her dream of caring for animals! Patty’s interests include gardening and bird watching with her dogs – Sage, Rowdy and Natti.

An Arizona native, Mandi moved to Colorado with her family in 1993. She graduated from Mesa State College with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science. She worked as an EMT and Medical Assistant in an Orthopedic clinic for seven years. Mandi joined Tiara Rado Animal Hospital in 2016 and loves working in Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation of orthopedic patients. In her free time Mandi hikes with her furry buddy, Ruger.

Tiria

A Grand Valley native, Tiria has a passion for animals of all kinds. She participated in 4-H livestock shows raising multiple Grand Champion Market and Showmanship animals such as pigs, sheep and cattle. Now she pursues a love of purebred dogs, showing in conformation, agility, hunting and lure coursing. Tiria enjoys riding her horse and helping youth in 4-H programs. Other hobbies include riding dirt bikes, hunting, fishing, camping and traveling.

Amanda was raised in Palisade. She started working in Health Care while in High School and received her CNA when she was 18. Amanda has worked with the elderly, the mentally ill, and in home health care before joining the animal care team at Tiara Rado Animal Hospital in 2016.  Amanda is married with 2 daughters and has a dog, a cat and a ferret.
