In an effort to keep all dogs in the Grand Valley healthy, the Tiara Rado Animal Hospital team, including Dr. Frank Coons, are offering free rabies and distemper vaccinations for dogs to those in need. Those needing to get their dog vaccinated are invited to Catholic Outreach, 245 S. 1st St., Grand Junction, on Wednesday, June 22 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
This is the third year Tiara Rado Animal Hospital has offered this service to the community.
"Those in need are welcome to come down for free vaccinations," Dr. Coons said. "Animals are at risk all over town, and we want to see that they're healthy."
According to Dr. Coons, it's not easy to keep a pet healthy since they are exposed to a number of organisms that can make them sick. "It's important to have your pet examined twice a year to help detect and treat health problems before they become too serious."
