Tiara Rado Animal Hospital Names "Biggest Loser: Pet Edition" Winner

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (May 10, 2011) – A big congratulations goes to Beans for winning Tiara Rado Animal Hospital's "Biggest Loser: Pet Edition" contest. Beans, a seven-year-old Corgi, lost 15 percent of his body weight during the contest that ran from January through the first week of May.
Weighing 56.2 pounds in January, Beans is now a svelte 47.8 pounds. His owners are Randy and Cindi Walck of Grand Junction. And for all of Beans hard work, he and his owners received a $100 gift certificate to Tiara Rado Animal Hospital for goods or services.
Twelve pets participated in the program.
"We started this contest in January as pet owners start looking at their own health," Dr. Bob Marquis said. "With every participant, we took into consideration the breed and any existing health conditions. Just like humans, getting your pet to a healthy weight, and keeping it there, will help prevent a number of health-related illnesses."
